Comparison of Christianity with Chinese Philosophies

The Christianity is our relations with our Lord God. And we who believes that Jesus Christ is our personal Lord and Savior , is called Christians. And we the Filipinos under the country of Philippines ,is the only Christian nation in Asia. And most of Filipinos are believers of God. And we the Christians believe in HELL and in HEAVEN .And what we call ETERNAL DEATH(the one will be granted to be go to hell, because the one who doesn't believe God) and EVERLASTING LIFE(the one will be granted to live with God , because the one who believe God). And because God love's us .. even if we committed a sin HE is willing to forgive us on what we have done .

The Chinese Philosophies are the TAOISM , CONFUCIANISM and LEGALISM. The Taoism it talks about the saying "GO WITH THE FLOW". While the Confucianism it talks about the chivalry , moderation and the golden rule(do unto others what you want them do unto you). And the Legalism it is the mixture of Confucianism and Taoism. It talks about the methods and patterns.

"There are broad trends in our time that are direct result of past history. Among the many examples of such history that could be noted is the 'opium war' fought in China more than a century ago"

How are events connected with our time?

In his century , the culture that Chinese brought us is part of our daily living , the other beliefs that they believe in and the language is adopted by us . and also dynasties . They invented paper , gunpowder and printing . The paper is now we use and part of our writing . And printing now is in modern ways . Ae adapted it to the Chinese civilization .

THE KING AND I

*personal document*

We watched the story King and I because it is our project in social studies. there was a girl named Anna and his son Louis. who went to the Siam . and lets get start the story..

Mrs. Anna Leonowens(a widowed woman) and her son Louis arrive in Siam, after the death of her husband, Anna Eeonowens moves from England to Siam with her son Louis to become a teacher for the children of the king of Siam. She finds Siamese customs to be quite different from English ones, which brings her often in conflict with the king. However, after some time they find themselves getting along much better where she has contracted to teach English to the children of the royal household. She threatens to leave when the house she had been promised is not available, but falls in love with the children. A new slave, a gift of a vassal king, translates "Uncle Tom's Cabin" into a Siamese ballet, expressing her unhappiness at being with the King. She attempts to escape with her lover. Anna and the King fall in love, but her British upbringing inhibits her from joining his harem. She is just about to leave Siam when she hears of the King's immediate death, and returns to help his son, her favorite pupil, rule his people.

The Historical Significance of the film , i learned in the film is that no matter how you and others not knowing each other learn to help them to be able to understand them and to meet other persons . And love others like you love yourself.

The social relevance of the film in our country is that in the past years , we have a ruler that was called a DATU while in the film they called the Ruler a KING . and the teachers go to other places just to teach children who want to learn. And the king of Siam and Philippines have the same because they are free to have many wifes. and their kindness to other people .
